INTERVWITH THE BAND SPACE CHASER

1. To kick things off: Tell our audience a bit about the origin story of your Band.

We founded Band in 2011 in Berlin, Germany. We were thrash-loving kids basically haha. But everyone had its own background musically, may it be hardcore/punk or power/heavy metal. We quickly found a stable lineup in 2012, released an EP followed by three albums and a split. 3 years ago, our original singer left and Leo, the Rhythm Guitar Player took over.

2. Tell us about your new project?

Our newest album “Razorblade Bay” is something very special, because it’s our Band presented with a new sound and a new voice. It’s the result of hard work, compressed into 10 songs and 32 minutes of pure thrash.

3. If you had to describe the sound of your Band to someone who hasn’t heard you yet: What would you say?

Fast and aggressive, but yet melodic music that makes you want to do something crazy and unforgettable and have a lot of fun at the same time.

4. How has the songwriting evolved with the band over the years? What does that process look like for you lately?

For our actual record, we changed a lot of things. Wrote most of the music at home instead in the rehearsal space and with Andy Brings (ex-Sodom) we had a producer helping us a lot.

 5. Outside of metal, what books, Video Games, movies, or life events leave a mark on your music?

Any cool science fiction horror stuff you can find—classic movies, series, novels, short stories, etc. We like that a lot.

6. What are some of the recurring themes or messages you find yourself exploring in your lyrics?

Science fiction themes, planetary horrors, distant, gruesome worlds. A place like Razorblade Bay.

7. What is one song you’ve written that you feel captures the absolute core identity of the band?

Razorblade Bay, the title track of our new album.

8. Do you find your energy translates better in an intimate club style venue or a massive festival setting?

Both have their charm for sure. I prefer clubs due to the short distance to the audience and the overall intensity.

9. Which Artists or Band inspired you to be in a Band?

Definitely the classic Bay Area thrash bands.

10. If you could sit down and collaborate with any Artist or Band right now, who would be at the top of your list and Why?

Doing a track with guest vocals from Chase H. Mason (Gatecreeper) would be great.

11. What’s the current Pulse of the Metal Scene from your perspective?

I discover great underground bands every week. Metal is alive!

12. Are there any endorsements or gear brands you’re currently working with that you’d like to shout out?

Istanbul Mehmet Cymbals and Los Cabos Drum Sticks.

13. What does your tour calendar look like? Any big shows or festivals we should be made aware of?

We have 4 more shows in the coming weeks, with one being our own release show in our hometown Berlin. We are currently mainly planning shows for 2027; a tour through Europe would be a dream. Let’s see what the future holds!

14. What is your very first Metal album you ever bought ?

Metallica – Kill ’em all.

15. What was the very first metal concert you ever went to?

Amon Amarth and Dimmu Borgir in 2006 I think.
