Interview with Sagenbringer

(1) Could you tell our readers about your band Sagenbringer? – What kind of music do
you perform, when was it established, etc.?
SAGENBRINGER was officially found on the 25th December 2021, when our first Single
BLUTMARSCH came out. We are playing modern Folk-Metal with German lyrics. Our songs
or tales as we call them are mostly about Norse mythology inspired themes. We see
ourselves as Taleweavers so maybe there will be stories and tales from other cultures
around the world in the future.

(2) Which bands or artists inspired you to play music?
As we are four different personalities there are many influences and inspirations from other
bands and artists. But to name a few Ensiferum, Eluveitie, Arch Enemy, Bullet for my
Valentine, Iron Maiden, Children of Bodom, those might be the biggest ones.

(3) Who came up with the cover art for the album Zwischen den Welten?
The idea for the cover art was created by all of us together while being on tour. First there
was the name of the album and then we thought about a fitting image. Yggdrasil, the world
tree, was just perfect to express the whole album.

(4) Who wrote the lyrics for your new album, how did they come to be?
Haldruhir, our lead singer, is responsible for all our lyrics. He is the mastermind behind all the
stories and tales that bring the world of SAGENBRINGER to life.
He is a big fan of mythology and fantasy and so he tries to connect a tale or a story to a
certain emotion or even a moral. You can find something to think about in every of our songs.

(5) Who created the logo for the band, and who takes care of the graphics and the
website?
When it came to the process of creating a band logo Skjomi, our guitarist and producer,
remembered a friend from Colombia who already made the logo for his former band. We
explained our vision of SAGENBRINGER and he nailed it. We are very satisfied with his work
and right now we don’t think that this will ever change.
Mostly Haldruhir is involved in the creative process behind our graphics and keeps the
connection to designers.
Our website is the baby of Trygve, our drummer. He is taking care of everything from adds to
tour dates and so on.

(6) How many Shows have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether
(Venues or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?
We done about 50 gigs so far, and we have found that both can be really cool. At festivals,
its a great chance to reach new audiences, and its really cool when you see more and more
people coming to the stage. But club shows are just as cool and intense.
Cramped, good atmosphere, and you could almost feel the sweat on the walls. That's metal.
Our best gig was in 2023 when we played with Varg and Nachtblut during the Wolfsfest Tour
in Leipzig. When the whole place is chanting your band's name and you realize that people
want more, it's pretty overwhelming. We were very emotional after the gig and we realized
that we can still achieve a lot with this band.

(7) What is your songwriting process?
That is a question we love to answer.
Mostly the music comes first. We think about what the song should sound like and Skjomi
does his magic. After that Haldruhir gets the music and listens to it a few times to get an
emotional connection to it. May sound a bit esoteric but that’s how we work. In the following a
story comes to life and the lyrics are written.
The outcome is a tale that sounds 100% like SAGENBRINGER.

(8) Can you tell us about the name of the new album What's the Inspiration behind it?
As we already mentioned we don’t want to focus only on the norse mythology. So this album
and its name are the first little steps away from that. With tales like WALPURGISNACHT or
BEI VOLLMOND we are already going new ways mythological-wise.

(9) How has your musical taste changed from when you first started playing to your
latest release?
Not very much since we are a very young band. We are not even five years old. But maybe
we are more aware of our own genre since we started SAGENBRINGER. Mainly because
we got to know so many musicians on our way.

(10) Do you have endorsements that you want to talk about or share?
We don’t have any endorsements yet, but we are open to it. So feel free to hit us up if you
would like to support us with anything.

(11) Would you like to share any shows or festivals coming up?
First of all, we cant wait for our first headliner tour in Germany. This will be a new experience
for us, one that we have great respect for and are very excited about. We are really happy to
have such great tour support with Deliver The Galaxy.
In summer we will be heading straight to the festivals. There are two festivals we are really
looking forward to which will be a dream come true. Unfortunately, we can't reveal which
festivals these are yet.
We have got a total of 40 gigs in 2026, and the grand finale will be the tour with Tanzwut in
Octobre and November. We are really excited and can't wait to start the next year.

(12) How and where can your fans contact you? What about you and social networks?
You can find us on most social networks. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, the only
network we will definitely not attempt is Twitter or X. Too much toxicity! Too much nazi scum!
