Interview with Sacred Leather

(1) Could you tell our readers about your band Sacred Leather? – What kind of music do you perform, when was it established, etc.?

Heavy Metal. The band originally formed in 2014.

(2) Which bands or artists inspired you to play music?

Kiss, Judas Priest, Queensryche to name a few.

(3) Who came up with the cover art for the album Keep The Fire Burning?

The band collectively came up with the concept, and the artwork itself was executed by an amazing artist named Nico Brausch.

(4) Who wrote the lyrics for your new album, how did they come to be?

All lyrics were written by myself, Dee and Magnus, our bass player. As each song starts to develop musically, we kind of just let the tone of the song influence the lyrical direction. It all happens pretty naturally.

(5) Who created the logo for the band, and who takes care of the graphics and the website?

That would be Magnus. He does 90% of all of our graphic design work, in addition to slaying on bass.

(6) How many Shows have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether (Venues or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

Too many to count. We absolutely love playing festivals, and hope to play many more, upon the release of the new record.

I think one of my favorite shows that comes to mind was playing with Tom Keifer of Cinderella fame. It was an absolutely packed house, and we could feel so much energy from that crowd.

(7)What is your songwriting process?

We typically write all instrumentation first, and then build from there with vocal melodies, structuring changes, etc.

(8) How would you describe your band’s sound?

A call to arms, for the power of pure unadulterated Heavy Metal.

(9)

What are the main themes or messages in your lyrics?

Quite all over the place. Anything from Fantasy/Fiction, to sex, to religious lore and so on.

(10) Do you have endorsements that you want to talk about or share?

We endorse the leather industry, because without it, we’d look like a bunch of dweebs in cracker jack clothes.

(11)Would you like to share any shows or festivals coming up?

As of now, we have our record release show on Friday, December 12th in Indianapolis. Working diligently on booking as many shows/festivals as we can for 2026!

(12) How and where can your fans contact you? What about you and social networks?

You can contact us directly at our Facebook or Instagram accounts.
