(1) Could you tell our readers about your band HZed ? – What kind of music do you perform, when was it established, etc.? We play rock. Established By Spruce (Myself and our Drummer Sam back in 2014)

(2) Which bands or artists inspired you to play music ? My first inspiration was my dad as he is a musician. Then when I first heard the guitar on Under The Bridge by John Frusciante from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

(3) Who came up with thecover art for thesingle Saved Yourself ? Our manager Mel, she wanted an image representing Tenaye’s lyrics of staying strong and true to yourself, continuing to fight

(4) Who wrote the lyrics for your new single Saved Yourself, how did they come to be ? Our vocalist Tenaye, the song is about self redemption and getting up continuing to rise, refusing to break and staying true to yourself.

(5)Who created the logo for the band, and who takes care of the graphics and the website ?  The original dragon logo came from a sri lankan good luck dragon, I took it to Danny Young from Frankston Tattoo who then drew it up into a logo.

All social media is taken care of by our manager Mel, who also does a majority of our artwork and photography and she is also the owner of Shadow Zone Photography

(6) How many Shows have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether (Venues or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best? I’ve lost count how many we have played even over the past year, it’s been a massive year for us. One of the best shows this year was actually our last show for the year last Saturday. We love all gigs

(7) What is your songwriting process? I will generally come up with an initial riff and take it into rehearsal, we jam it together and Tenaye will song over the top. Everyone puts in their ideas and we build from there. Sometimes Tenaye has bought in a melody first too and we have worked on it that way.

(8) How would you describe your band’s unique sound? Not really sure, maybe you can you tell us haha

(9) What are the main themes or messages in your lyrics? The latest songs are quite positive and powerful

(10)Do you have endorsements that you want to talk about or share?  I have an endorsement with Rockboard by Warwick, amazing pedal boards which I have been using for many years

(11) Would you like to share any shows or festivals coming up? We have a few shows booked for the first few months of the year but haven’t announced just yet so you’ll need to stay tuned. Hoping to venture out a little more next year also which is exciting.
