Interview with the band Embryonic Autopsy

Interview with vocalist: Tim King

1.) To kick things off, tell our audience a bit about the origin story of the band Embryonic Autopsy?

We formed in 2021 as a side project to get back to our roots of 90’s style Death Metal and  have some fun playing this style of music again. From there it just took on a life of its own and we got some friends to play solos on the material. James Murphy (Death, Obituary) and Terrance Hobbes of Suffocation.  The next thing you know we have a record deal with Massacre Records, a booking agent, a publishing deal, and a merch deal. So what started off as a project, turned into a full time band.

2.) Who took the lead on picking the songs for RISE OF THE MUTATED? and what was the spark that brought that idea to life?

Scott (guitarist) writes all the riffs so he brought the ideas to the table. From there Kenxi (bass) and Marco (drums) add their parts and the I (Tim) bring in the lyrics and vocal ideas and song arrangements.

3.) If you had to describe the sound of your band to someone who hasn’t heard you yet, what would you say?

90’s inspired brutal death metal

4.) How has the songwriting evolved with the band? What does that process look like for you lately?

We try and get heavier and more grotesque with each album. I think we have accomplished that if you go from album to album.

5.) What are some of the recurring themes or messages you find yourself exploring in your lyrics?

We are really inspired by Alien intervention and alien/human hybrid genetic modification.  Plus we wanted to create a story that blended that concept with total horror movie style blood and guts and over the top lyrics and song titles.

6.) The cover art for “Aborted Within The Aztec Temple” is striking, who was the creative mind behind that vision?

I came up with the idea and had our artist design a concept based off of that vision.

7.) Do you find your energy translates better in an intimate club venue or a massive festival setting? Also, which show stands out as your all-time favorite?

Both. The intimate settings really let you connect with fans on a one on one basis. The festivals really show the aggression and power of a packed crowd.

8.) Which artists inspired you to be in a band?

I love old school death metal. Morbid Angel, Obituary, My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost, Cannibal Corpse, Six Feet Under, Incantation, and Suffocation are my favs.

9.) If you could sit down and collaborate with any artist or band right now, who would be at the top of your list?

I’d love to write a song with John from Incantation. I love his riffing style.

10.) What’s the current pulse of the metal scene from your perspective?

The death metal scene is currently thriving and it is exciting to be a part of it.

11.) Are there any endorsements or gear brands you’re currently working with that you’d like to shout out?

I use Telefunken microphones. The band uses Jackson Guitars, Sans Amp, and Sansberg basses

12.) What does the tour calendar look like? Any big shows or festivals we should be marking down?

We have a huge European festival and club tour starting June 3 with Six Feet Under.  Then planning a USA tour.

13.) Where’s the best place for fans to keep up with you and dive into your community online?
