Album Review of “Miscreation” by ALL LIFE ENDS

Aweewar Miscreation album cover

In an age where countless bands are tirelessly fighting for their own niche in the saturated world of extreme metal, Switzerland’s ALL LIFE ENDS shines like a dark gem, casting shadows that are both chilling and intriguing. Since their inception in 2006, the band has rigorously delivered records that are nothing short of death metal masterpieces, but with “Miscreation”, they have arguably outdone themselves.

From the get-go, “The Silent End Of A Bastard Breed” is a ferocious testament to the band’s dexterity. The track balances its monstrous riffs with a touch of musical eloquence, setting the stage for what’s to follow. The subsequent tracks only build on this momentum, with “Gardens Of Imperfection” and “The Dreamless Void” showcasing the band’s ability to infuse melody without sacrificing brutality.

One cannot discuss “Miscreation” without nodding to the genius of Dan Swanö’s mixing and mastering. The sound is mammoth, echoing in the deepest caverns of your mind, ensuring that each track leaves a haunting imprint.

“Extinction Hours” is a particular standout, threading the needle between traditional and modern influences seamlessly. The guitar work is both clinical and creative, with solos that make your spine tingle, evoking memories of the genre’s legends, yet simultaneously forging a new path. The title track, “Miscreation”, is a monolith in its own right, blending aggression with an undercurrent of melancholy.

Beyond the sonic landscape, the artwork for “Miscreation” is nothing short of awe-inspiring. It captures the essence of the record perfectly – a monstrous, darkened journey through realms that few dare to traverse.

ALL LIFE ENDS have proven, why they remain at the pinnacle of the death metal scene. “Miscreation” is not just another record; it’s evidence to the band’s relentless drive, their pursuit of perfection, and their unwavering dedication to their craft. For lovers of extreme metal, this album isn’t just a recommendation – it’s a necessity.
