Fleshcrawl’s journey to their upcoming release, Epitome of Carnage, is a testament to deep-rooted endurance in the extreme music scene. Founded way back in the spring of 1987 in Illertissen, Germany, by Stefan Hanus and Bastian Herzog, the band originally operated under the moniker Morgöth. By 1990, they pivoted toward a markedly more extreme musical direction and briefly performed as Suffocation. However, when the American band of the same name emerged alongside Fleshcrawl’s own impending vinyl debut, another name change became necessary—and thus, the Fleshcrawl we know today was born.
Decades after those foundational shifts, the band is now firing on all cylinders with a powerhouse lineup consisting of Bastian Herzog handling drums and vocals, Manu Markowski on bass, Apu Justin Reisch and Christian Kalbrecht driving the guitars, and Borisz Sarafutgyinov on lead vocals.
Set to drop on June 12, 2026, Epitome of Carnage delivers a massive, 12-track gauntlet that maintains their uncompromising direction from start to finish.
