Interview with THEM

(1) Could you tell our readers about your band Them ? – What kind of music do you perform, when was it established, etc.?

2014 was the actual year we started this journey in THEM. First, as a one off album project titled “Sweet Hollow” then evolving into a band.  We play horror inspired heavy metal that has been classified as both Power Metal and Thrash metal.

(2)Which bands or artists inspired you to play music?

Billy Joel, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Accept

(3) Who came up with the cover art for the album Psychedelic Enigma?.

Giannis Nakos from Remedy Art Design.  He is based in Greece.

(4)Who wrote the lyrics for your new album, how did they come to be?

Troy wrote half the songs and KK wrote the other half. Each album is a continuous storyline but Psychedelic Enigma touches upon what has happened in the past and sets up the listener for something new. Some reviewers refer to it as an end. It could be an end or a new beginning. The listener has to decide. Listen to the very end of the album. No spoilers here!

(5) Who created the logo for the band, and who takes care of the graphics and the website?

Travis Smith, the graphic artist created the THEM logo and  Ulle from THEM handles a lot of extra graphics work as well as the website stuff.

(6) How many Shows have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether (Venues or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

THEM has performed many shows/tours between 2016 and 2019.  Once Covid hit the world, THEM hasn’t played live again…yet.  THEM is willing and able to perform live. Perhaps one day again. We love performing at larger venues and festivals. THEM is a very busy band on stage and the more room the better it will be.  One notable run was as direct support for Helloween during their 2016 USA/Canada Tour. We played every show with them. It was great watching Helloween some nights.  One of our better shows would be our Bavarian Festival Show years ago. We were on fire that night and we won’t forget that.

(7)What is your songwriting process?

Music is written first then concept/storyline is thought out. Next, Album Title and song titles, next vocal melodies and finally lyrics.

(8)What’s the most memorable experience you’ve had on tour?

There were many but my most memorable was our first show ever in Montreal Canada.  Our Chicago, IL show was pretty awesome too. Oh wait, then there was sword brothers festival in Germany.

(9) What are the main themes or messages in your lyrics?

One continuous story that follows KK Fossor across land, sea, time and dimensions.

(10) Do you have endorsements that you want to talk about or share?

Personally I have no endorsements. I love shure microphones for live and Neuman Mics for recording.

(11) Would you like to share any shows or festivals coming up?

No shows booked at this time. Check back with facebook.com/thembandofficial in Feb/March. Maybe something will pop up for the spring/summer 2026

(12)How and where can your fans contact you? What about you and social networks?
