Interview with CORELEONI

1) Could you tell our readers about your band CORELEONI? – What kind of music do you perform, when was it established, etc.?

Mila: The band Coreleoni was born from Leo Leoni’s desire to revive the period of the first three albums of Gotthard, which were more hard rock than the music they have been playing since the 4th album. After two albums of covers we decided to dedicate ourselves entirely to the production of our own songs, so we recorded Coreleoni III. The band consists in Leo Leoni & Jgor Gianola on guitars, Gent Bushpepa is the voice, Alex Motta on drums and myself Mila Merker on bass. We play “modern vintage”. To get an idea of what this means, listen to our records, especially Coreleoni III.

(2) Which bands or artists inspired you to play music?

Alex: It all began with AC/DC in my case. My parents gave me the vinyl copy of back in black when I was 6 and it was a real shock for me! It’s always been and still is my favorite album ever. Growing up I delved deeper into the 60’s (especially the swingin’ London era) and 70’s rock in general, which both helped shaping my style.

(3) How many Shows have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether (Venues or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

Alex: We played lots of gigs…I don’t remember how many  but everytime it’s like the first time for me! Venues are better than festivals in my opinion…seeing all the people into a venue just for you is something really special, it’s like receiving a huge hug from all of them…amazing!

I think that we are always very solid on stage…but our last album “live at Hallenstadion Zürich” can offer something very special to our fans and hard rock enthusiasts!

(4) What are the songs you default to during a break when jamming?

Mila: We don’t really have fixed songs that we play during a break, normally before a concert we warm up by playing (and singing) the first songs of the setlist that we will perform on stage.

(5) Can you tell us about the hard rock scene in Europe?

Mila: The hard rock scene in Europe is experiencing a revival, with many new emerging bands of young musicians who prefer this genre, and we’re very happy about that, of course.

(6) Do you have endorsements that you want to talk about or share?

Mila: Each of us has several endorsements, they are an important part of a musician’s activity and we are very grateful to for their support, but it would be too long to list them all here

(7) Would you like to share any shows or festivals coming up?

Mila: It’s still too early to reveal our plans, but keep following us on social media, we’ll be happy to update you soon because there’s a lot of interesting news on the horizon.

(8) How and where can your fans contact you? What is your relationship with social networks?

Mila: There are three platforms where our fans can stay informed about our activities: our official website www.coreleoni.com, our Facebook page and our Instagram profile. All our addresses can be found on our website, under the Contact page. But the best way to connect with is, of course,  to come to our concerts…
