(1) Could you tell our readers about your band Secret Rule? – What kind of music do you
perform, when was it established, etc.?
Sure! Secret Rule is a modern metal band from Italy, founded by Andy Menario (guitarist,
backing vocals, keyboards, and producer) and me.
We mix symphonic, melodic, and heavy elements — think powerful female vocals,
electronic textures, and aggressive guitar riffs, all wrapped in cinematic and emotional
atmospheres.
The band was born in early 2014, and since then we’ve released ten albums and toured
extensively across Europe.
We love pushing our music beyond boundaries — with every album, we evolve based on
what we feel, what excites us, or simply what challenges us creatively.
Over the years, we’ve had a few lineup changes. The current lineup features Andrea
Miazzetto on drums and Sofia Basili on bass.
(2) Which bands or artists inspired you to play music?
I’ve been inspired by so many artists — from Within Temptation and Lacuna Coil to Queen,
Muse, and even more extreme or experimental bands.
I’ve always been drawn to music that’s theatrical, emotional, and intense — regardless of
genre.
As a band, we’re influenced by modern metal, metalcore, cinematic soundtracks, and
anything that pushes emotional and sonic boundaries.
(3) Who came up with the album cover?
I’m usually the one behind most of our visuals. I create the artwork after brainstorming the
concept, colors, and mood with Andy — then I bring it to life.
We always try to make the artwork part of the story, not just a random image.
(4) Who wrote the lyrics for your album, and how did they come to be?
I usually write both the vocal lines and the lyrics.
They reflect my feelings and my personal view of the world, the system, and society.
That said, Andy and I are always aligned on the overall concepts and themes we want to
explore in each song.
(5) Who created the logo for the band, and who takes care of the graphics and the
website? What about you and social networks?
Our logo was designed by Simona “Speedy” Saccoccia, based on the guidelines we gave
her.
The symbol in the logo has a deep meaning connected to life and spiritual energy.
She also created the artwork for our first four albums.
I built and maintain our official website myself, and I manage all our social media pages
and content.
I wish I had more time to focus only on being a singer, but nowadays being active online is
a big part of being an artist — even if it takes a lot of time away from the music itself.
(6) How many shows have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer (venues or
festivals), and which of your performances would you consider as the best?
We’ve played nearly 300 shows across Europe, both in venues and at festivals.
I love the intimacy and raw energy of venue shows — there’s something powerful about
being so close to the crowd.
But festivals are amazing too: big stages, big energy, and big audiences!
One of our most unforgettable shows was definitely Masters of Rock this year — the
energy was unbelievable.
(7) Who came up with the name of the new album?
Andy and I came up with “X” together.
It marks our tenth album, and of course “X” is the Roman numeral for ten — but it also
represents the unknown, like a variable in a formula.
Since we’ve never really fit into a single subgenre of metal — and we love blending
influences — “X” felt like the perfect title to express that identity.
(8) What is your favorite song to play live?
That’s always a hard one… but right now, I’d say Uninverse.
It touches me deeply and allows me to express so many different shades of my voice.
It’s one of those songs where I feel completely present and connected — both to myself
and to the audience.
(9) How and where can your fans contact you? Can you provide some contact
information?
