(1) Could you tell our readers about your band Kaupe ? – What kind of music do you perform, when
was it established, etc.?
We have been labeled Instrumental Progressive Metal, but have elements of thrash, sludge, and
shoegaze. We were established around summer of 2016.
(2) Which bands or artists inspired you to play music?
Anything from Alice in Chains, Interpol, Queens of the Stone Age, to Meshuggah, Car Bomb, Chat Pile.
As well as synthwave\darkwave groups like Carpenter Brut, Com Truise, and Preturbator
(3)Who came up with the album Destroyer of Worlds cover art?.
We came up with the War of the Worlds concept based on the album title. Our Russian artist Stutender
did the design.
(4) Who wrote the lyrics for your new album, how did they come to be?
Next time wear a black shirt—Matt Decker
RMR-1029—Scott Angelacos
(5) Who created the logo for the band, and who takes care of the graphics and the website?
We dont have one set logo for the band. It has been slowly evolving with each album cover. Stutender
did the last one.
(6) How many Shows have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether (Venues or
festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?
We have mainly played club gigs. We're in Florida so anything with air conditioning is the best. Tough to
say best performance…I think we are steadily getting better.
(7) who came up with the name of the new album?
Robert Openheimer haha. We shortened one of his quotes. We thought it worked well with the
concept of the album; the ways in which technology/social media are destroying our world.
(8)Can you tell us about the video RMR 1029 feat. Scott Angelacos, Viewer Discretion What's the
Inspiration behind it?
We shot our performances in our practice space in front of a homemade green screen, and we had the
amazingly talented Pang from asmara studios edit the video. The concept of the video follows the
concept of the album mentioned earlier. The title RMR-1029 was the flask found by the FBI that was
identified as the parent material used for the early 2000s Anthrax attacks.
(9) Can you tell us about the metal scene in Florida ?
It’s currently a lot of death metal, slam, and punk. Although there are always the oddball bands like us.
(10) Do you have endorsements that you want to talk about or share?
No
(11) Why an all instrumental band vs one with a singer?
Our music calls for a lot of diversity when it comes to a singer. If we were to have a singer we'd want
one that could sing, and scream, and be able to write great lyrics. Unfortunately, we have not found
this person.
