Interview with the band Juliet Ruin

1) Could you tell our readers about your band Juliet Ruin? – What kind of music do you perform, when was it established, etc.?

A) We started Juliet Ruin in 2015, and for the most part we say we play alternative metal.

(2) Which bands or artists inspired you to play music?

A) As a group we have an eclectic musical influence background, which I think happens a lot with bands and contributes to the unique flow and style. This is definitely the case with us. Jesse’s (drummer) influences being Van Halen and Black Sabbath, Wesley’s (lead guitar) are Guns n Roses and Children of Bodom. Kent’s (rhythm guitar) are Chimaira and Mastodon.

Vocally Jess is a big Devin Townsend and Corey Taylor fan and takes a lot of influence from pop vocalists like Gaga.

(3) Who came up with the album cover?

A) We’ve been working closing with Multi- media artist and animator Feen Murry. We have completely handed her creative control of our merch, logo and album design and we could not be happier with the work she has done and continues to do.

(4) Who wrote the lyrics for your new album, how did they come to be?

A) Jess writes all of the lyrics and vocal melodies for the songs. While these things are inherently vulnerable, these lyrics are taken mostly from Jess’ journals and turned into poetry.

(5) Who created the logo for the band, and who takes care of the graphics and the website?

What about you and social networks?

A)We don’t have a website but Jess does all of the social media. Our artist, Feen does everything else

(6) How many Shows  have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether (Venues or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

A) Hmmm not sure how many at this point haha. We love a good hometown bar show because it’s just unbeatable fun. But in truth it’s hard to pick a favourite kind of show or even a best performance. Because honestly it’s always such a wonderful experience, there’s always something to learn or an awesome memory made.

(7) who came up with the name of the new album?

A) It was a collective effort that we were unsure on but ultimately decided to go with. It will make a lot more sense once the single of the same name is accessible haha

(8) How and where can your fans contact you? Can you provide some contact information?
