Interview with Profane Elegy

(1) Could you tell our readers about your band? – What kind of music do you perform, when was it established, etc.?

The Sorrow of being Immaculate was formed in 2023 and released the debut EP “Church Music for Satanists” early 2024.
The music is instrumental sludge/drone with elements of Welsh Folklore and Folk-Horror.

(2)Which bands or artists inspired you to play music?

Electric Wizard, Eyehategod, Sabbath, Earth, Zeppelin. Some electronic music like Surgeon or Nik Colk Void.

(3) Who came up with the album cover?

All artwork is done by The Sorrow of being Immaculate. The “Suicide Forest” album cover is the band logo made to look
like some kind of bush or tree-canopy. There is alternate artwork with the album download.

(4) Who wrote the lyrics for your album Suicide Forest, how did they come to be?

There are no lyrics, just the song titles. It was originally called “Between Vengeance and Tranquility” but the more it came together the more appropriate “Suicide Forest” became as the title and when the track “Suicide Forest” was written it was decided.

(5) Who created the logo for the band, and who takes care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks?

A guy called kurakurakucing did the logo. He was found online. There is an instagram page for the Sorrow of being Immaculate unfortunately and a youtube. Both are under Drone Alone Productions which is the label.

(6) How many Shows have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether (Venues or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

No live shows. There might be one day if an appropriate promoter, venue and opportunity is found. With a laptop and some visuals it could be possible. Playing a festival would be awesome.

(7) who came up with the name of the new album?

The Sorrow of being Immaculate

(8) What is your favorite song to play live?

If there is a live appearance the track to play would be “Theendlesslowlevelbackgroundhumofanxiety” as its long, intense and would allow everyone to lose themselves. 8 Minutes of one riff and some noise.

(9) When on the road, what is your go to meal and why?

It would be some good quality Pasta.

(10) How and where can your fans contact you? Can you provide some contact information?
